Protesters Protesting the Wrong Thing

Many folks protesting the G20 Summit are protesting against capitalism. While I support their right to speak freely, IMHO, they are protesting against the wrong thing. It is not capitalism that they are against. The assumption is that the current economic system we have is pure capitalism or free market capitalism. However, it is far from it.

It is statism that they are protesting. Statism in the form of state capitalism. We live in a world where the economy is controlled by the state. Rules and regulations that allegedly seek to be more equitable turn out to be detrimental to individuals and a free society.
